The position of *Family Support Specialist (Home Services) *will pay $68,000/annually.
_Must have Covid-19 Vaccine and Booster.
_ *Learn more about the Job:* Reports to: Regional Supervisor or above *In-home visitation.
*Under supervision of the Regional Supervisor,the Family Support Specialist will complete home assessments and provide case management services to children, as well as conduct brief interventions as needed.
*Job Responsibilities:* * Conduct time-sensitive and thorough home study assessments for potential placements for Unaccompanied Child, including background interviews, home assessment, and case analysis.
* Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate post placement services and comprehensive case management for UC.
* Carry a case minimum caseload of 25 PRS cases, or at least 3 home studies with 20 PRS cases.
* Conduct brief interventions to help families address crises and manage conflict, as needed.
* Complete individualized needs assessments with UC and sponsor, and develop case plans with particular attention to culture, language, and special circumstances.
* Maintain a high standard of record-keeping according to policies and procedures.
* Position requires up to 25 percent long distance travel with limited notice.
* Position is remote and the candidate must have an appropriate workspace to complete documentation, client phone calls, and video conferencing.
* Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure that each child receives the services they require.
* Assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices through phone/video calls, interviews, and home visits * Build a network of local pro bono legal resources and service providers to facilitate access for UC and sponsors, and track individual progress * Supports agency initiatives related to Trauma Informed, Resilience-Oriented Care (TIROC) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
* Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders.
_Documentation_ * Participate in regular training and communication sessions with supervisor and staff.
* Maintain case files and Children’s Bureau documentation in accordance with our funder and Children’s Bureau rules and regulations.
* Submit written reports as required.
* Track individual progress via an online database.
_Community _ * Build a network of local pro bono legal resources/services and care providers to establish services for UAC * Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders * Participate in regular training and communication sessions with USCRI headquarters staff * Networks to develop/maintain high quality community profile * Develops/maintain effective working relationships with all individuals and agencies impacting CB programs _General_ * Maintain confidentiality in matters of agency operations, personnel, and clients * Maintain positive communications with all agency staff, clients, and volunteers * Exercise good judgment in performance of duties and responsibilities * Support existing agency policies, principles, and mission * Other duties as assigned *Job Qualifications:* * Master of Social Work, a behavioral science, or social services field, with at least two years’ progressive experience in the fields listed above; or a bachelor’s degree in social work, a behavioral science, or social services field with a minimum of three years’ progressive experience in the fields listed above.
* Two years successful experience case management and advocacy with families, children, and/or parents, preferably on behalf of immigrant and refugee children * Experience in child welfare, child placements, family preservation and social service provision is desired.
* Possess an extensive knowledge of immigrant community local resources.
* Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
* Must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and displaced people.
* Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
* Bilingual English/Spanish required.
* Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, clean driving record.
* Maintain confidentiality in matters of agency operations, personnel, and clients.
* Maintain positive communications with all agency staff, clients, and volunteers.
* Exercise good judgment in performance of duties and responsibilities.
