With headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 35 years.
NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.
; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
Summary: Applies electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, electrical testing procedures, engineering mathematics, physics, and related knowledge to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, and repair of production equipment.
Analyzes and resolves electrical problems, or assists workers in solving equipment problems.
This is a non-exempt, union position.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembles, installs, and tests motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components.
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
Installs power supply and control wiring for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors systems.
Installs wiring and electrical components in specific electrical panels.
Requirements:
Associate’s or technical school degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative or corrective maintenance.
Ability to replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and positions sensing devices; replace electric motor bearings and reconnect electrical power to motors.
Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, charts, related sketches, electrical schematics, ladder logic in programmable controllers, technical manuals, written instruction, and assigned duties,
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July – early October.
Compensation:
The hourly union wage is $30.
