COST ACCOUNTANT/ ANALYST - ATWATER, CA
Salary - $85,000 to $95,000
This is a full-time on-site position.

OVERVIEW:
The Plant Cost Accountant/Analyst will support the Plant Controllers and Plant Management in handling day-to-day reporting, costing, forecasting, annual budgeting, period-end and year-end accounting/finance functions, ad hoc analysis, and special projects as needed.
The successful candidate is a quick learner, exhibits a positive attitude and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment, and has strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Production and distribution of daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to plant operations.
Performs regular variance analysis and provides written and verbal explanations to Plant Controller and Plant Management.
Analyze and understand yield loss and make recommendations on corrective courses of action.
Analyze and understand Direct Labor variances to standards and make recommendations on corrective courses of action.
Provides costing for new and reformulated products.
Establish working relationships with plant operation partners to obtain and provide meaningful insight and analysis for plant financial results.
Complete monthly period-end close-related tasks including preparing journal entries, expense accruals, and cost/variance analysis to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely reporting of financial results.
Contribute to the timely completion of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations including resolving reconciling items.
Support facility cycle count and physical inventory controls and procedures.
Maintain the company’s accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Assist with forecasting and annual budgeting process.
Assist with annual audit requests to provide timely and accurate information.
Create reports as needed, ad hoc analysis, and other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
4+ years of hands-on financial or cost analyst experience preferred
Cost accounting experience including Bill of Materials, Labor, and Overhead accounting.
Full understanding of accounting and GAAP.
Experience with ERP systems
Proficient in MS Excel and other MS products
