Exciting opportunity to lead the Quality function at an internationally recognized food manufacturer in Merced County, CA.
You will manage a team of 16 cross-functional team members across QA, QC, and food safety across two aseptic facilities.
You will implement more robust testing processes, handle all customer interactions, and work cross-functionally with the operations and sales teams.
Roles & Responsibilities: Develop and analyze data and product specifications to determine present quality standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of the finished product.
Direct and maintain food safety and security plans for the organization.
Work directly with the Sales group and Customers to resolve product quality complaints and issues.
Partner with the Vice President of Sales & Logistical Supply Chain Group to ensure the accuracy of physical and perpetual inventory.
Formulate and maintain quality control objectives related to corporate policies and goals.
Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
Provide Quality Control training to key personnel in the organization.
Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant supervisors and COO to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
Responsible for internal and external food safety audits.
Apply continuous improvement tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within the quality department.
Manage team engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Work with vendors to ensure the quality of all purchased chemicals and parts for company use.
Responsible for technical sales and supporting the sales team efforts.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Science/Food Science with 12+ years of related experience Background in Food Manufacturing with experience in an aseptic environment Familiarity with FDA Rules and Regulations Training, USDA, GMP Training, Food Safety and Security, HACCP and SQF.
Hands-on coaching and mentorship as you will be responsible for a group of 16 cross-functional team members.
Strong communication and customer service skills coupled with attention to detail are paramount.
